AI Architecture and Solutions
We help organizations design and build secure, compliant, AI-augmented data flows
Enterprise Organizations
We combine traditional data modeling expertise with modern AI capabilities. This has led to the development of an AI data modeling framework explained in our blog series. More than just a methodology, we've integrated it with a working toolset within our Tag desktop application. To ensure these data models can scale and remain flexible, they're built using OWL ontologies (semantic models), which provide exceptional power and expressiveness.
While building Tag we created hundreds of prompts, some quite complex. During this process, it became clear that managing prompts and context deserves the same rigor as managing SQL scripts or application code. We built catalogs for prompts and data models to support proactive management of these knowledge assets.
Now that these approaches are working well, we want to expand these formal concepts to enterprise needs. We bring deep expertise in prompt engineering and context management, along with many years of data integration and application design experience.
Applying AI data modeling to a new enterprise context is more efficient than you might expect. AI assists significantly with artifact creation, freeing architects to focus on conceptualization and supporting teams who will benefit from the data model.
The first phase involves understanding your current state and creating an AI-aware data model that can be queried. The data model can reside within Tag or integrate with other tools you already use.
Subsequent phases can address:
Prompt design and reuse, including prompt library design
Change management processes for AI model updates
Context management, including integration with existing systems, custom AI tools, and HIPAA/PIPEDA compliance
AI skills management to support HR, potentially including an AI Center of Excellence (CoE)
Vector databases or knowledge graphs for semantic search
Guardrails to enable safe use of increasingly powerful AI capabilities
While we label this as enterprise-level consulting, any team investing seriously in IT architecture can benefit from these approaches. Thoughtful AI architecture isn't just for large organizations - it's for any team that wants to use AI effectively and responsibly.
Professional Practices and Small Teams
Documentation shouldn't be your bottleneck. When multiple team members contribute to complex documents, coordination becomes challenging and quality can become inconsistent.
Common challenges we address:
Collaboration complexity
Multiple contributors working on the same document with inconsistent writing styles
Difficulty tracking who entered what data and when
No clear workflow for review and approval across team roles
Data gathering inefficiency
Repetitive questions to clients because information wasn't captured systematically
Manual re-entry of data that exists elsewhere in your systems
Coordination delays when one team member needs information another collected
How we help:
We analyze your team's documentation workflows to identify bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Then we design AI-assisted processes that coordinate input effectively while maintaining quality standards. Whether it's multidisciplinary assessment teams, collaborative case management, or proposal development, we create solutions that fit how your team actually works (not how software vendors think you should work).
Our implementations typically include:
Structured data collection forms that multiple team members can populate
AI extraction from existing documents to avoid redundant data entry
Shared prompt libraries and writing samples to maintain consistency
Quality checkpoints that preserve professional standards while increasing speed
Individual Practitioners and Professionals
Psychologists, speech-language pathologists, medical professionals, legal practitioners, and other professionals creating complex reports and documentation.
Your challenges:
Spending hours on report writing when you'd rather focus on client service
Repetitive data entry and formatting tasks
Difficulty remembering and locating content from earlier documents that may be relevant again
Maintaining consistency across reports
Keeping up with documentation demands as your practice grows
Navigating the learning curve with new AI tools
How we help:
We redesign your existing reports for AI-assisted generation, customize prompts to match your intent, customize writing samples to match your style, and provide hands-on training. Most clients reduce report writing time by 60-80% within days or weeks, not months. We handle the technical complexity so you can focus on your professional expertise.
Engagements are typically short and charged by the hour. Our goal is to set you up with the best possible solution, help you become productive quickly, and show you how to customize it yourself moving forward.
Our Approach
Human-at-the-Wheel, AI-in-the-Loop
We don't believe in "AI replaces humans." We believe in augmentation: AI handles time-consuming, repetitive tasks (data extraction, first drafts, pattern recognition, formatting) while humans handle judgment, context, ethical decisions, and final accountability.
In our designs:
Humans always make the critical decisions
AI accelerates and assists, never operates autonomously
Review points are explicit and appropriate to risk level
Audit trails capture full detail of all AI interactions
Professional expertise remains central to quality outcomes
This philosophy shows up in our architecture diagrams, our prompt designs, and our implementation recommendations. It's not just marketing, it's how we build systems.
Security First
We've spent decades working with sensitive data in regulated environments. Security isn't an afterthought - it's the foundation of everything we design.
Our security approach:
HIPAA/PIPEDA/GDPR alignment - We understand compliance requirements and design accordingly
Local processing where appropriate - When possible, keep sensitive data on your systems
Explicit data flow documentation - Know exactly where your data goes and what touches it
Vendor-neutral architecture - Avoid lock-in to any single AI provider
Audit trail design - Every AI action is logged for accountability
We've designed enterprise security systems, conducted ISO 27001 reviews, and built HIPAA-aligned AI applications. We know what auditors look for because we've been the auditors.
Practical, Not Theoretical
We've built these systems ourselves. Tag isn't a prototype or a demo, it's production software used by clinicians daily to generate complex reports. We've implemented 60+ assessment protocol reports, which can be mixed and merged with other content. We've designed AI-assisted workflows for everything from assessment-driven reports (many kinds), to sets of related student documents that flow from efficient & time-constrained student intake processes.
This practical experience means:
We know what works in production, not just what looks good in presentations
We understand edge cases because we've encountered them
We can show you working examples, not just conceptual diagrams
We've refined prompts through real-world usage, not lab experiments
When we recommend an approach, it's because we've implemented it successfully. When we warn about a pitfall, it's because we've encountered it. This saves you time, money, and frustration.
We're not a large consulting firm with extensive resources - we're a small team with big ideas and practical solutions. We want to share what we've learned and continue learning from the larger and varied challenges our clients face.
